About Us
New Africa Black Belt Wall Street Business Association was incorporated by Imam W.D Mohammad in 2005 as a National Business Association. Each is incorporated independently in its own state. Black Belt Wall Street Business incorporated by Book T. Washington in Black Wall Street of the Greenwood business district in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In its origins, it was called the “black soil”. The black soil ranges from Texas throughout the entire South to include Maryland and Delaware. This is where the highest concentration of slaves were sent. From its rich soil production of free slave labor, made the United States the richest country in the world. The Tulsa race massacre occurred between May 31st and June 1st, 1921. During the massacre, 35 square blocks of homes and businesses were torched by mobs of angry whites. Law enforcement used airplanes to drop firebombs on building, homes, and fleeing families. An estimate of 3,000 lives were lost and 10,000 blacks became homeless. After WWII, all the soldiers that fought and saved our democracy were promised to be a part of the New Deal. The New Deal stated that all service men would become financially vested in shared financial growth with the United States.
All were included except black soldiers. They were denied benefits and could not buy homes through the veterans homeowner’s bill. Stating that their homes in the black community had no equity value. A bill was passed into law called Redlining, no banks, insurance companies, real estate brokerage, or any other large businesses did business. Redlining after 100 years still exist in all black communities. Forcing African Americans to become more than 95% consumers. That’s why the New Africa Black Belt Wall Street Business District is reincorporating, identifying businesses in our communities, and becoming each other’s asset to build new businesses through joint investments. It is projected that African American consumer spending for FYI 2023 is 1.8 trillion dollars. That's the power of the black dollar. Doing segregation, the black dollar circulated throughout our community twenty-six times before leaving.. Today because of non-business activity, our dollars circulate for only four hours in our community.
